Afterburner Gets Ready for Liftoff

The Odyssey Esports is proud to announce Afterburner 2026!

The largest fighting game tournament in Indiana is back for its third year on January 17-18th at the Kruse Plaza in Auburn, Indiana. Players from all over North America have attended this once-a-year event for its intense competition and remarkable production.

This year, Afterburner hosts singles brackets for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Super Smash Bros Melee, Street Fighter 6, and Rivals of Aether 2. Players can also look forward to doubles brackets for Ultimate and Melee, Ultimate ladder, and Ultimate collegiate crew battles. 

Afterburner is held at the Kruse Plaza in Auburn, Indiana, and is open to players of all ages. The venue opens at 9 AM on both Saturday and Sunday, with a full bracket schedule available on the Afterburner Start.gg page. Super Smash Bros Ultimate Top 8 begins at 5 PM EST on Sunday and will be streamed to players around the world. The venue, Kruse Plaza, is located at 5634 Opportunity Blvd, Auburn, IN 46706, USA.

Early registration entry fee costs $50, so players are encouraged to register earlier. Regular registration fees begin on September 24 at $60. Attendees 18 & under receive a “Youth Venue Fee” of $40. Spectators in attendance can purchase a pass for $30. Minors will receive a free pass for their guardian with this purchase. Registration is open now and available at start.gg/afterburner.

Afterburner is hosted by Odyssey Esports, Fort Wayne, Indiana’s local esports company. Since they began in December 2022, Odyssey has hosted many successful tournaments. Last year, Afterburner brought in over 500 attendees from across North America. Over 400 competitors, including Sonix, Zomba, and Cody Schwab, created a tournament to remember, viewed by over 30,000 unique viewers across the world. This year, Afterburner is set to break its records and have even more notable players in attendance. Stay tuned to see what Afterburner is fueling up.
